About the Opportunity
This person will provide technical support for MagneMotion's linear synchronous motor product line by providing in-depth technical knowledge related to the products; determining and recommending which products or services best fit the customers' needs, identifying and resolving application issues from the office via telephone and internet as well as installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining products and systems in the field. This may involve working with a third party systems integrator to implement MagneMotion's linear motor technology.
Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures related to motion control systems, robotics and factory automation technology is desirable. Responsibilities may include assisting in providing product technical training in-house or at the customer's facility. This person will participate in on-going product improvement by providing feedback from the field to Engineering and Marketing and participate as a team member in the development of technical documentation, user manuals, process improvement and application examples. Duties also include assisting with the assembly and operation of trade show equipment and demonstration units.
This person will also provide Applications Engineering support activities including providing pre-sales applications analysis, system sizing and configuration assistance to potential customers and being a proactive liaison with internal Engineering resources to determine alternative solutions when needed.
Qualifications:
- BSME or EE or CS with emphasis on systems with 5-7 years of experience
- Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong people skills
- Experience in motion controls and motor drive control systems such as PID loops, PLC programming, ladder logic, servo tuning experience, PC based controllers, serial I/O, digital I/O and positioning devices
- Experience with industrial automation, robotics and automated manufacturing systems

Approximately 50 to 75% domestic and international travel required, sometimes on short notice
