MagneMotion develops and manufactures assembly automation, material handling and transportation solutions using electro-magnetic technology, specifically linear synchronous motor and magnetic levitation systems. Join us in our new facility located in Devens, MA.

About the Opportunity

This person will provide pre and post-sale technical support for MagneMotion's linear synchronous motor product line by providing in-depth technical knowledge relating to the products; conducting upfront analysis of customer requirements; identifying and resolving application issues from the office via telephone and internet as well as troubleshooting systems in the field. Responsibilities will include assisting in providing product technical training in-house or at the customer's facility. Participate in on-going product improvement by providing feedback from the field to Engineering and Marketing. Participate as a team member in the development of technical documentation, user manuals and application examples. Assist with the assembly of trade show equipment and demonstration units.

Pre-sales support includes providing applications analysis, system sizing and configuration assistance to potential customers and providing a liaison with internal Engineering resources to determine alternative solutions when needed.

Post-sales support includes providing assistance with integration of the product and commissioning complete systems at the customer site or working with a third party systems integrator to implement the MagneMotion's linear motor technology.

Qualifications:

  • BSME or EE or CS with emphasis on systems with 5-7 years of experience
  • Trouble shooting, problem solving skills as well as strong people skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in motion controls and motor drive control systems such as PID loops, PLC programming, ladder logic, servo tuning experience, PC based controllers, serial I/O, digital I/O and positioning devices
  • Experience with industrial automation, robotics and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Approximately 50 to 75% domestic and international travel required, sometimes on short notice

MagneMotion's engineers use the latest Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), magnetic design software and computerized analytical tools.
