MagneMotion is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will primarily assist in the design of industrial linear synchronous motors. Additional responsibilites include: design of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies and systems; designs and builds prototypes; develops specialized tooling and fixturing; confirms system and product capabilities and quality; prepares reports.
Preferred Skills:
- Stator Laminate Design - bonding, fastening, & mounting for linear motors
- Motor Coil Design - winding, securing, & interconnecting motor coils
- Liquid Cooling Design - cooling system specification & subcontractor management
- Composites - familiarity of various composites such as fiberglass
- Structural Steel Design - sizing & selecting structural steel & fasteners to support linear motors
- Manufacturing Design - develop sourcing and assembly methodology for industrial linear motors
- Hands On Experience - experience with electro-mechanical assembly and machine shop tools (mill, lathe, etc.)
Qualifications Requirements for this position include: BSME plus 10+ years experience minimum, proficiency using parametric CAD Solid Modeling, working knowledge of Solidworks, experience in motor design, electronics packaging, large gauge cable management, design for manufacture (DFM). Candidate must be organized, analytical, a good communicator and have demonstrated capability producing finished drawings.
