MagneMotion to Exhibit at 2005 Assembly Technology Expo in Chicago, IL.
Acton, Massachusetts (July 28, 2005)
MagneMotion announced today that it will exhibit its suite of QuickStick™ Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) solutions at the Assembly Technology Expo, September 27 to 29 at booth #1650. The QuickStick 100 LSM, MagneMotion’s newest offering in its line of intelligent conveyor solutions, will be added to this year’s display of demonstration models. Designed to handle smaller vehicles than the QuickStick 500, it allows for smaller payloads to travel at a higher throughput rate with shorter headways between vehicles.
“The QuickStick 500 handles two vehicles per meter-long module, while each QuickStick 100 LSM module can independently control as many as five small vehicles”, says Product Manager, Joe Meagher, “Its ideal for high-throughput transport and assembly of medical devices or consumer products, with a significant decrease in production cost.” Both QuickStick models offer the same vehicle movement and positioning features without the use of pneumatic stops, belts, pulleys or gears. With fewer wearing parts, it requires less maintenance, and generates fewer airborne particles, making it ideal for cleanroom applications.
The conference is widely regarded as the largest “all-assembly” trade show in the world, offering access to the latest solutions and advances from the leading companies in the assembly automation industry. Over 10,000 industry professionals attended in 2004. For more information on the Assembly Technology Expo, please visit www.atexpo.com.
MagneMotion develops and manufactures assembly automation, material handling and transportation solutions using electro-magnetic technology. A proven front-runner in research and development of Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) and maglev (magnetic levitation) systems, its scaleable LSM design allows for the handling of payloads as small as one pound, or as large as 25 tons. MagneMotion's clients include government agencies such as the DOT, DOE, NASA, the US Navy, and leaders in the transportation, mining, and manufacturing industries. MagneMotion holds patents and has special expertise in position sensing, communication, control and manufacturing of linear synchronous motors, as well as propulsion, levitation and guidance for maglev systems. Recent initiatives include the development of an urban maglev demonstration system in cooperation with the Federal Transit Administration, and an LSM-based elevator for the US Navy.
