MagneMotion to Exhibit with Lanco Assembly Systems at the 2004 Assembly Technology Expo in Chicago, Illinois

Acton, Massachusetts (September 9, 2004)

MagneMotion announced today it will demonstrate its QuickStick Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) and Control System at the Assembly Technology Expo in Chicago, Illinois from September 28 through September 30, 2004 at the Lanco Assembly Systems booth, #317. Over the last few years, MagneMotion has collaborated with Lanco to ensure that its QuickStick LSM technology can be integrated into Lanco’s HFL2002 Conveyor solution and address the need for a faster and more sophisticated assembly transport system.

“Lanco recognized early on that our QuickStick LSM technology can fill a role that other conveyor systems cannot,” said Joe Meagher, QuickStick’s Product Manager, “Relative to conventional belt or chain conveyors, LSM technology can increase assembly throughput by a factor of 2 or 3 and operate virtually maintenance free.”

The QuickStick LSM System delivers a long list of benefits for systems integrators and users alike. “Currently, the industry uses slow conveyor belts and hard stops to position pallets for an operation,” said Brian Perreault, Vice President of Controls at MagneMotion. “Our QuickStick LSM System can position pallets without extra sensors or stops, move pallets more quickly through stations, and provide higher acceleration and deceleration than conventional methods. Moreover, our QuickStick LSMs feature bi-directional travel, bringing an entirely new dimension to the assembly automation process.”

The conference is widely regarded as the largest “all-assembly” trade show in the world, offering access to the latest solutions and advances from the leading companies in the Assembly Automation Industry. For more information on the Assembly Technology Expo, please visit www.atexpo.com.
