MagneMotion to Exhibit QuickStick™ LSM Material Handling System at ProMat® 2005, Chicago, Illinois
Acton, Massachusetts (October 28, 2004)
MagneMotion announced today it will demonstrate its QuickStick™ Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) and Control System at the ProMat® 2005 trade show, Booth #218, held January 10-13 in Chicago, Illinois. The QuickStick™ LSM System, designed for bi-directional, fast transport of materials, is a low maintenance, intelligent solution capable of handling loads from one to one thousand pounds.
“It’s a huge technological advancement for the material handling and assembly automation industries,” says Joe Meagher, Product Manager of the QuickStick™ LSM. “Because the QuickStick™ LSM System needs no rotary motors, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, sensors, hard-stops and other problem components, down-time can be reduced dramatically. We look forward to discussing the possibilities for increasing throughput and capacity utilization with end-users, systems integrators, logistics consultants and others.”
MagneMotion’s QuickStick™ LSM System is an intelligent conveyor system that uses electro-magnetic power to control the movements and speed of a vehicle fitted with an array of permanent magnets. Its motors, driver, controls, software and position-sensing components are all built into a meter-long module equipped with serial communication ports. Connected end to end, and programmed from a computer interface, the QuickStick™ LSM System serves as an alternative to traditional belt-driven conveyor systems.
ProMat® 2005 showcases “essential material handling & logistics solutions” for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations. The trade show includes five Solution Centers, over 700 exhibits covering 300,000 square feet, and industry-specific educational sessions along with other events.
