MagneMotion to Debut MagneMover Lite™ Demo System at ATX East 2009, Booth #3237

New MagneMover Lite Model Will Address High Volume, Low Mass Applications

Devens, MA (April 9, 2009)

MagneMotion, a developer and manufacturer of Linear Synchronous Motors (LSM) used for process automation, assembly automation, and transportation applications, today announced that it will introduce a model demonstration of MagneMotion's newest initiative, the MagneMover™ Lite System, at the ATX East 2009 Conference from June 9-11, 2009 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York, NY in Booth #3237.

The patent pending MagneMover Lite system builds on MagneMotion's existing QuickStick® LSM technology while specifically addressing applications requiring the movement of smaller, lighter payloads, found in industries such as lab automation, pharmaceutical, packaging and small parts assembly markets.

Where MagneMotion's QuickStick LSM product line is often applied to the transport of larger, heavier loads sometimes ranging to hundreds of pounds on pallets from 150 mm to over a meter in length, the new MagneMover Lite is a transport system that will rapidly and accurately move loads weighing less than 2 kg on simple pallets or pucks ranging from 50 mm to 100 mm in length. The demo system on display at ATX East will mirror the full capabilities of the final system, and will give attendees a sneak preview of the capabilities and potential applications of the new system, which will be available to order in Q4 2009.

A selection of standard MagneMover Lite track building blocks fit together in a plug-and-play manner to form an almost endless variety of layout options. The motors contain the propulsion and built-in intelligent routing control elements typical of the entire QuickStick line, along with attachment features for the guidance and structural supports for rapid assembly and track configuration. The system is ideally suited for environments requiring clean operation and/or wash down capability. It can also support "track and trace" requirements as each puck is uniquely identified and constantly tracked throughout the system.

"For markets like laboratory automation, small electronics, pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging we have been repeatedly asked if a smaller MagneMover system can be developed to accommodate the smaller, lighter payloads typical of these applications," stated MagneMotion Vice President of Sales and Marketing Peter Mattila. "The new MagneMover Lite system provides a turnkey transport solution in response to these market demands. For example, it is ideally suited to moving tubes, vials and trays in lab automation applications. The system incorporates features and capabilities of our previous QuickStick LSM-based systems with a focus on reduced size and reduced cost. The MagneMover Lite with built-in anti-collision and pallet traffic control is a more capable alternative to conventional conveyor systems that currently service these markets," Mattila concluded.
