MagneMotion Announces Move to New Headquarters in Devens, Massachusetts
MagneMotion relocating in December 2008 to accommodate growth
Acton, MA (August 29, 2008)
MagneMotion Inc., a developer and manufacturer of Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) products and systems used in assembly automation, material handling and transportation applications, today announced that it will be moving its corporate headquarters to Devens, Massachusetts within the former Fort Devens complex in January of 2009. The new facility is being built specifically to accommodate MagneMotion's growing needs in the area of linear synchronous motor (LSM) technology development, product manufacturing and testing.
The new facility, located at 139 Barnum Road in Devens is being built by D'Ambrosio Enterprises of Ayer, MA. The building was designed by Maugel Architects of Harvard, MA. MagneMotion's new home is about twice the size of the company's current headquarters in Acton, MA. The decision to move to Devens was based on a number of factors including the availability of space to build an adjunct test facility at the site for large demonstration and test systems and the streamlined permitting process in Devens. MagneMotion anticipates continued growth of its work force over the next 5-10 years, and the Devens facility will accommodate this expected growth.
"This move to new facilities marks a key juncture for MagneMotion as we prepare for the future", said MagneMotion President and Chief Operating Officer Todd Webber. "Due to the size and scope of some of our major engineering projects and growth of our commercial product business we have a pressing need to expand our engineering, manufacturing, test and administrative space. We anticipate continuing this growth in the coming years and the new Devens complex has been designed to be able to accommodate that and help take us to the next level", concluded Webber.
